The Army 2023 Forum Notes the Importance of AI Security Regulatory Support.
“The dominant topics of the Forum’s 2023 agenda are artificial intelligence technologies and diversification of the defence industry complex, advanced control systems, intelligence, precision weapons and robotics,” said Major General Alexander Osadchuk, Head of the Main Directorate for Innovative Development of the Russian Ministry of Defence.
On August 18, in his speech at the panel Artificial Intelligence Regulation, Sergei Pospelov, Executive Secretary of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly, stressed the importance of regulatory support for AI in the field of security
“AI-related issues require legal conceptual frameworks and early legislative regulation, and discussions at the UN and international conferences, including the Army 2023 Forum, confirm it,” Sergei Pospelov noted.
He added that “cognitive security related to artificial intelligence is coming to the fore. Economic, proxy and cyber aggression, all part of hybrid warfare, makes it particularly relevant.”
As you may recall, the International Military and Technical Forum Army 2023 is held on August 14–20 at the Patriot Exhibition Centre, at the Alabino training ground and Kubinka airfield. The Forum presents 28,500 products of the defence industry.
