Viktor Khrenin: “The Liberal Idea of Globalization Has Not Solved the Problem of Inequality of States and Peoples”
On August 15, Lieutenant General Viktor Khrenin, Minister of Defence of the Republic of Belarus, said during the 11th Moscow Conference on International Security that the struggle of many countries for their sovereignty and independence had resulted in a global confrontation between the West and the East on the territory of Ukraine.
The head of the defence agency of the CSTO Member State noted that the West has actually pushed the planet to the brink of the third world war.
“We are deeply convinced that the liberal idea of globalization has not solved the problem of inequality of states and peoples. Moreover, the so-called golden-billion countries have tried to use it to ensure their hegemony in the unipolar world model, which would allow them to control the resources of the entire planet. In fact, a case can made for the establishment of a new neocolonial regime on the planet,” said Viktor Khrenin.
According to the Minister of Defence of Belarus, many countries have joined the fight against the West, defending their independence and sovereignty.
Discussions within the framework of the Army 2023 Forum continue. On August 18, Sergei Pospelov, Executive Secretary of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly, is expected to speak on the introduction of artificial intelligence technologies in the Eurasian space.
