Vladimir Putin Has Declared 2025 the Year of the Defender of the Fatherland in Russia
During the meeting of the State Council on family support, Vladimir Putin, President of Russia, suggested to declare 2025 the Year of the Defender of the Fatherland after the Year of the Family.
“Next year, we will celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory. In this regard, I suggest to declare 2025 the Year of the Defender of the Fatherland,” the Russian President declared.
He emphasized that it would honor both modern heroes and our ancestors, who crushed Nazism and fought for the Fatherland in different historical periods.
As you may recall, on December 9 in Moscow, the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly adopted the Address to the Parliamentarians of the World in Connection with the 80th Anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet People in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 and Anti-Hitler Coalition in the Second World War. The parliamentarians called on the world community to join efforts in preventing the revival of Nazism and preserving the most important moral values for future generations.
