Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation, sent congratulatory messages to the leaders of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and other countries on the occasion of the 79th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, kremlin.ru reported.
"It is important to suppress any attempts to distort or to bury in oblivion our common history. And, of course, it is crucial to cherish and pass on to future generations the glorious traditions of friendship and mutual support, which helped our fathers and grandfathers to honorably withstand the difficult military challenges and defeat Nazism," said the head of the Russian Federation.
Vladimir Putin expressed confidence that the bonds of fraternal friendship forged during the Great Patriotic War will remain a reliable foundation for the development of relations between our countries and peoples.
Addressing the leaders and citizens of foreign states, the Russian President conveyed words of sincere gratitude to the veterans of the Great Patriotic War and home front workers, wishing them good health, prosperity, courage and longevity.
