Servicemen of the Combined Russian Military Base in Kant conducted a military and historical quiz for schoolchildren
Servicemen of the Combined Russian Military Base in the Kyrgyz Republic gave military and patriotic lessons to the elementary school pupils of Gymnasium No. 3 in Kant. The servicemen talked to the kids about how to protect their Fatherland, their homes and their families. The pupils took a historical quiz on the events of the Great Patriotic War to test their knowledge of such heroes of the Soviet Union from the Kyrgyz SSR as Kalyynur Usenbekov, Ismailbek Taranchiev, soldiers of the Panfilov Division Duyshenkul Shopokov, Nikolai Ananyev, Grigory Konkin, Grigory Shemyakin and others.
According to the Vecherniy Bishkek with reference to the press service of Russian Ministry of Defence, special attention was paid to the importance of strengthening the historical unity of the fraternal nations of Russia and Kyrgyzstan.
Let us remind you that one of the combat planes of the Kant airbase, which is a part of the Combined Russian Military Base, is named after Ismailbek Taranchiev. On March 18, 1944, the international crew of the Ilyushin Il-2 plane that included Taranchiev, a native of the village of Besh-Kungei, Alamudunsky district, Kirghiz SSR, and crew gunner Aleksei Tkachev, a native of the village of Shuklino, Yartsevsky district, Smolensk oblast, Russia, rammed a fascist convoy near Narva. The name of Hero of the Soviet Union Ismailbek Taranchiev (he was awarded this title posthumously) was awarded to the Sukhoi Su-25 attack plane of the Kant airbase on December 9, 2017, on Heroes of the Fatherland Day, celebrated annually in the Russian Federation.
However, the Combined Russian Military Base in Kant does not limit its assistance to military and patriotic lessons.
According to the Krasnaya Zvezda, together with the Alexander Nevsky Military Church branch of the Miloserdiye charity organization, Russian servicemen have been conducting humanitarian actions for families in difficult circumstances for more than 10 years. They collect for them warm clothes and food and personal hygiene products for children.
Servicemen of the airbase also help out at a nearby sponsored orphanage and a social service facility for the elderly people with disabilities.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the NBCP troops of the Kant military base decontaminated the city hospital, the “red zone” of the military hospital in the village of Besh Kungei, the Gymnasium No. 4, Kant city centre and the most frequently visited city sites.
Servicemen of the airbase repeatedly collected and delivered food packages for medical workers and patients of the Issyk-Ata territorial hospital involved in the fight against the coronavirus infection.
Combined Russian Military Base in Kant is an air component of the Collective Security Treaty Organization’s Collective Rapid Deployment Force ensuring security of the territory and airspace of the CSTO Member States. The base is equipped with Sukhoi Su-25 attack planes and Mil Mi-8MTV helicopters.
