According to the Vecherniy Bishkek newspaper, servicemen of the CSTO military base in Kyrgyzstan became blood brothers to several Kyrgyz citizens.
The newspaper writes that servicemen responded to a call for help on social media and donated blood for patients of the Republican Blood Centre in Bishkek.
According to Sputnik Kyrgyzstan, forty servicemen, including the Chief of Staff of the airbase, donated blood. Each serviceman donated about 450–470 milliliters; in total, about 20 litres of blood were collected. “It will be used to save the injured and treat hemophilia and cancer patients in Kyrgyzstan,” the report said.
As you may recall, this is not the first time the personnel of the CSTO base in the Kyrgyz Republic provide aid. They have responded to calls for help before, including from the Republican Blood Centre, becoming donors, and systematically helping veterans and Kyrgyz citizens in difficult circumstances.
