Vyacheslav Volodin elected Chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State of Belarus and Russia

Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, at the 61st session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State of Belarus and Russia, was elected Chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly.
The session took place on December 2 in Minsk, Republic of Belarus, at the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus.
The session participants considered a set of measures aimed at implementing Decree No. 6 of the Supreme State Council of the Union State of November 4, 2021, entitled Main Guidelines for Implementing the Provisions of the Treaty on the Creation of the Union State for 2021–2023; acknowledged powers of the deputies of the Parliamentary Assembly delegated by the Federation Council and the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation; approved updated membership of commissions and elected chairpersons and deputy chairpersons of commissions. The session agenda included a discussion of the situation on the Belarus-Poland and Belarus-Lithuania borders and reaction of the European Union and other international organizations to international migration issues.
As you may recall, on November 29 Vyacheslav Volodin was elected Chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State of Belarus and Russia is an observer to the CSTO PA.
