Vyacheslav Volodin: no one and nothing can justify the crimes of Nazism
In his statement on the 75th anniversary of the first session of the Nuremberg Tribunal, Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization and Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, said: “No one and nothing can justify the crimes of Nazism. The decisions of the Nuremberg Tribunal are inviolable and have no statute of limitations. They protect our world.”
The website of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation quotes the CSTO PA Chairman: “On November 20, 1945, the first meeting of the International Military Tribunal was held in Nuremberg. The member states of the anti-Hitler coalition united to condemn crimes against peace and humanity.
Today we that a number of Western politicians attempt to reconsider the causes of the Second World War, to question the decisive role of the Soviet Union in the defeat of Nazism. Certain forces openly promote the rehabilitation of Nazism and its masterminds.”
As you may recall, on November 18, the State Duma adopted at its plenary session a statement Concerning the 75th Anniversary of the Nuremberg Trial of the Major War Criminals. Deputies find unacceptable the glorification in any form of Nazism, the desecration or destruction of monuments honouring the liberator soldiers, or making a state policy out of such actions.
The document was sent to the United Nations, the European Parliament, PACE, the OSCE PA, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, the Inter-Parliamentary Union and the IPA CIS.
