Vyacheslav Volodin: An effective Russia-Kyrgyzstan dialogue has been established on the platforms of inter-parliamentary cooperation – IPA CIS and CSTO PA
Sadyr Japarov, President of the Kyrgyz Republic, met with Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the CSTO PA and Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.
“We hope that your arrival and our meeting today will allow us to give a new development impetus to the relations between our parliaments, among other things. We will discuss issues within the parliamentary framework,” said Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly and Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, at a meeting with Sadyr Japarov, President of the Kyrgyz Republic, who is visiting the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation today. This was reported by the press service of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.
“We intend to further deepen our Eurasian integration and progressively develop close partnerships within such international organizations as EurAsEC, the CIS, CSTO and SCO,” said President Japarov.
Vyacheslav Volodin congratulated Sadyr Japarov on his election as President of the Kyrgyz Republic. “Our observers took part in the election, and everyone came to the conclusion that the elections were competitive, open and legitimate,” said the CSTO PA Chairman.
Vyacheslav Volodin noted that the election in the Kyrgyz Republic compare favourably to the US election.
“The election in Kyrgyzstan was more open than in the United States. The United States have always suggested that others need to learn from them, now they need to learn from you. Unlike the US, there is trust in the election in Kyrgyzstan,” said Vyacheslav Volodin.
He stressed the necessity to develop, among other things, the relations between the relevant committees of the parliaments of both countries. “Russia and Kyrgyzstan are strategic partners, therefore it is very important for us that the parliaments do their best to develop and strengthen our relations, so that the dialogue was maintained both within the formats of the CSTO, CIS and EurAsEC and within the relevant committees,” he said.
“We do have a lot in common: the history of our countries and the fact that today we can rely on cultural ties and education projects,” said Vyacheslav Volodin.
A joint position on international platforms will help to develop relations, said the CSTO PA Chairman. “It is important for us to better understand each other, to take a joint position at inter-parliamentary forums. This will strengthen the decisions we make together,” he noted.
Volodin added that at the end of March he would meet with Talant Mamytov, Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh. The meeting will take place in Dushanbe as part of the work of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly’s Council. “We will discuss relations between the parliaments of our countries, as well as issues of harmonization of legislation together with the CSTO Member States,” he said.
In his speech, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov noted the mutually beneficial and trusting alliance and strategic partnership between the two countries and thanked Russia for its support during the coronavirus pandemic, recalling that his country regularly received humanitarian aid in the form of medical supplies and equipment. “Russia repeatedly sent medical teams at the peak of the pandemic, helped with the return of our citizens to their home country and eased the rules of stay for our citizens in Russia,” he said.
“We intend to further deepen our Eurasian integration and progressively develop close partnerships within such international organizations as EurAsEC, the CIS, CSTO and SCO,” the President of the Kyrgyz Republic emphasized.
“With great satisfaction I would like to note the high level of interparliamentary relations between Kyrgyzstan and Russia,” said the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, adding that an effective bilateral dialogue has been established on the platforms of interparliamentary cooperation: IPA CIS and CSTO PA.
