December 12 is the Constitution Day of the Russian Federation.
It is established in honour of the nationwide vote on December 12, 1993.
On Constitution Day, patriotic events, mass celebrations and roundtable discussions are held in all cities of the country.
On the eve of the holiday in the Kremlin, the President of the Russian Federation presents the highest state honours and awards.
“I congratulate you on the 30th anniversary of the Constitution of the Russian Federation. The Constitution, adopted at a challenging time for our country, played an important role in stabilizing the situation, determined the path and priorities of the state’s development. Today, the norms of the updated Constitution allow us to overcome external challenges, ensure further strengthening of Russia, consolidate its sovereignty, protect the rights and freedoms of our citizens, improve the quality of life of the people,” Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the CSTO PA and Speaker of the State Duma, congratulated the Russians.
