December 16 Is Kazakhstan Independence Day

On December 16, Kazakhstan celebrates Independence Day.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Republic, congratulated his compatriots on the holiday.

"This holiday is a symbol of the revival of our statehood and the implementation of our people's dream of freedom. On this day, we all become deeply aware of the importance of being faithful to the legacy of our ancestors and taking responsibility for the future of the nation. Independence is our common priceless asset, the foundation of all our achievements. Independence is above all. It is the duty of every citizen to protect it as the apple of our eye. Today, Kazakhstan is confidently moving forward, following a clear strategic course and strengthening its authority in the international arena step by step. All this is possible due to the hard work and solidarity of our people," said the leader of Kazakhstan.

The Law on Independence and State Sovereignty of the Republic of Kazakhstan was adopted on December 16, 1991.

This year Kazakhstan celebrates the 33rd anniversary of its independence.
