Andrei Kartapolov: CSTO is the Real Guarantor of Security
Andrei Kartapolov, Chairman of the Committee on Defence of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, noted that the CSTO is a reliable security guarantor. He reported this during the monitoring of the Collective Security Treaty Organization exercises in Balykchy.
“Exercises in Kyrgyzstan have once again confirmed that the CSTO is a reliable security guarantor in the region. The CSTO is the real guarantor of security, not far-fetched. And the level of interaction that we have seen today serves as a confirmation of these words,” the parliamentarian emphasized.
He also noted that servicemen from the CSTO Member States gathered in Kyrgyzstan only a few days ago, but even in such a short period of time they have done a considerable work.
“They have done a tremendous job to organize such a complex and multidimensional stage of practical actions, which involved a large number of different multi-departmental units. And what we see today shows that the CSTO is the most stabilizing factor in the Central Asian region, as well as in the Caucasus region and in the East European region,” Andrei Kartapolov shared.
As you may recall, the training maneuvers are held according to the joint training plan of management bodies and formations of forces and means of the CSTO collective security system. CSTO parliamentarians and observers from different countries are monitoring the exercises.
