Arman Kozhakhmetov: Preserving historical memory is important for all CSTO countries
Observers from the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization led by observer coordinator Arman Kozhakhmetov visited precinct election commissions organized at school No. 1512 named after sniper hero Aliya Moldagulova. Parliamentarians laid flowers at the monument of the Hero of the Soviet Union.
Observers noted efforts of the school’s cadet pupils to preserve the memory of a feat of the 19-year-old Kazakh girl.
Near the place where one of Moscow’s largest schools, consisting of 18 buildings, is located today, the sniper school stood during the war, which Aliya Moldagulova graduated from before she was sent to the front.
The street on which the school is located is also named after the hero sniper.
“It is very significant when we give our schools the names of our heroes, thus preserving the memory of those who died so that we can live today,” Arman Kozhakhmetov said.
“It was a great pleasure to visit school No. 1512, named after Aliya Moldagulova, our Hero of the Soviet Union, a hero of the Great Patriotic War; it is very significant that we give our schools the names of our heroes, thus preserving the memory of those who died for the sake of our lives today” said Arman Kozhakhmetov.
Arman Kozhakhmetov, coordinator of observers from the CSTO PA and Chairman of the Committee on Legislation and Judicial and Legal Reform of the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, said, “It is very important that our schoolchildren, our youth remember this. The memory of Heroes of the Great Patriotic War is very important: this lets us know that we remember and honor them, that it is our memory. To give one’s life for the bright future of our country at the age of 19 is a feat. And the fact that our school is named after Aliya Moldagulova, a Hero of the Soviet Union, shows that Moscow authorities pay great attention to patriotic education. This is very good.”
CSTO PA observers visited several precinct election commissions in the buildings of the school that teaches 5,500 studends simultaneously.
