Bakhtiyor Khudoerzoda: Election Commissions Are Ready to Hold Elections
The monitoring mission of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly has started international observation of the election of deputies to the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan.
At the meeting with Bakhtiyor Khudoerzoda, Chairman of the Central Commission on Elections and Referendums of Tajikistan, the delegation was informed about the preparation of the elections and specifics of the national legislation.
“We have a mixed electoral system. There are 63 deputies in total, 41 are elected in single-member districts and 22 on separate lists. We have done a thorough work on preparation and on timely notification of voters. We have a very active participation of women. Women representation in the party lists accounted for 30.8%. And they are well-represented in election commissions - up to 41.8%. Young people are very active as well. They also willingly participate in the distribution of informational materials. 960 thousand brochures have been distributed. The election commissions are fully prepared for the elections,” said Bakhtiyor Khudoerzoda.
Sergei Rachkov, CSTO PA Observer Mission Coordinator, thanked him for the invitation to participate in election observation in Tajikistan.
