Belarus and Russia to Continue Cooperation in Space
On April 12, on Cosmonautics Day, Aleksandr Lukashenko and Vladimir Putin, Presidents of Belarus and Russia, met in the Kremlin with the participants of the 21st expedition to the ISS – Oleg Novitsky, cosmonaut, Hero of Russia, and Marina Vasilevskaya, the first Belarusian female cosmonaut.
Vladimir Putin noted that Cosmonautics Day is a day when the achievements of the USSR are celebrated, which means the common achievements of all the republics of the former Soviet Union.
"And the flight of the first Belarusian cosmonaut into space is only an external manifestation of our joint activity. Although, of course, our activity is not limited to this," the Russian President emphasized.
Aleksandr Lukashenko thanked his Russian counterpart for the opportunity to send the first Belarusian cosmonaut into space and noted that Belarus and Russia had agreed to continue cooperation in space.
As you may recall, Aleksandr Lukashenko is now in Russia on a two-day working visit. After meeting with the cosmonauts, the President of Belarus continued his talks with Vladimir Putin.
