Satvaldiev: Parliamentarians’ participation in CSTO Peacekeeping Forces’ exercises is important for the Organization’s development
Nurbek Satvaldiev, deputy Secretary General of IPA CIS, Plenipotentiary Representative of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Parliamentary Assembly of Collective Security Treaty Organization, took part in the CSTO Collective Peacekeeping Forces exercise Unbreakable Brotherhood 2021 at the Kazan Higher Tank Command Red Banner School of the Order of Zhukov in the Republic of Tatarstan as a member of the Coordination Meeting of the Coordination Council of Chairpersons of Committees (Commissions) on Defence and Security of the Parliaments of the CSTO Member States. He is convinced, “A very important event took place in Kazan with the CSTO PA’s participation.”
“It was a matter of principle for us to take part in this event, because the coalition forces in the CSTO, in the Alliance, are almost always together at the exercises, but the Organization’s parliamentary component does not always participate.”
Nurbek Satvaldiev is convinced that “the fact that this time the two Secretariats – of the Collective Security Treaty Organization and the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly – decided to jointly take part in such exercise, is the right decision. I think we should support it and participate in them in the future.”
