Emomali Rahmon Urged to Develop New Forms of Security Cooperation
The VI Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia took place in Astana on August 9.
In his speech, Emomali Rahmon, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, noted the need to create mechanisms for close cooperation between law enforcement agencies of Central Asian countries.
He also stated that in the context of increasing global challenges and threats it is necessary to develop new efficient forms of cooperation in the field of security.
As you may recall, the Republic of Tajikistan is one of the six CSTO Member States. The main goals and principles of the Organization are the strengthening of peace, international and regional security and stability, protection of independence on a collective basis, territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Member States. When achieving these goals, the CSTO Member States prioritize political means.
