Erlan Koshanov at Meeting with Emomali Rahmon: Inter-Parliamentary Ties Are an Important Part of Our Relations

In Astana on May 4, Emomali Rahmon, President of Tajikistan, met with Erlan Koshanov, Chairman of the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan and a member of the Council of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly.

The meeting discussed a wide range of issues relating to Tajikistan and Kazakhstan’s cooperation, including inter-parliamentary ties between the two Collective Security Treaty Organization Member States.

Emomali Rahmon, President of Tajikistan, called on the deputies of the two countries to meet more actively and share experience.

Erlan Koshanov expressed readiness to leverage inter-parliamentary cooperation to expand bilateral relations.

The sides discussed close cooperation between the countries through parliaments at various international levels, including the CSTO, CIS and OSCE parliamentary assemblies, mutual visits of parliamentary delegations and establishment of a group of friendship and inter-parliamentary cooperation.
