Head of the Committee for Emergency Situations of Tajikistan Presented Measures to Combat Natural Disasters to his CSTO Colleague

The Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense under the Government of Tajikistan hosted a meeting between Rustam Nazarzoda, Chairman of the Committee and Colonel-General of the Police, and Valery Semerikov, CSTO deputy Secretary General, says TJinform. 

Rustam Nazarzoda informed his CSTO colleague about the activities of the rescue agency, its structural units, and cooperation with the Collective Security Treaty Organization in the prevention and response of natural disasters. 

In addition, the Chairman of the Committee for Emergency Situations provided information on the emergency situations that occurred on the territory of the state this year and on measures to eliminate them.

The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss cooperation on disaster risk reduction in the CSTO area, training and retraining of personnel, and strengthening the technical capacity of the rescue agency of the Republic of Tajikistan.
