Foreign Ministers of Russia and Kyrgyzstan Discussed CSTO Chairmanship of the Kyrgyz Republic
On January 22, Jeenbek Kulubaev and Sergei Lavrov, heads of the foreign ministries of Kyrgyzstan and Russia, held a press conference following talks in Moscow.
The parties discussed Eurasian integration, global and regional security and coordination of joint actions on international platforms.
Particular attention was paid to the interaction within the CSTO, taking into account Kyrgyzstan's chairmanship in the Organization in 2025.
“I have no doubt that this year, our political contacts in all areas will continue both in bilateral formats and within the framework of our shared associations,” Sergei Lavrov emphasized.
Jeenbek Kulubaev said that the Kyrgyz Republic would be represented at the highest level at the Victory Day celebrations in Moscow.
As you may recall, in December 2024, at a meeting with the heads of parliaments of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), Vladimir Putin, President of Russia, invited the leaders and military formations of the Member States to the Moscow parade in honor of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
During the meeting, Jeenbek Kulubaev and Sergei Lavrov signed the 2025-2027 cooperation program.
