On June 3, the meeting of the Council of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly will take place in Almaty under the chairmanship of Vyacheslav Volodin.
Parliamentarians will discuss measures to counter challenges and threats to collective security, as well as amendments to the 2021–2025 CSTO PA Action Plan on Approximation and Harmonization of National Legislation of the CSTO Member States.
Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the CSTO PA and Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, arrived in Almaty the day before, on June 2. The heads of parliaments of the CSTO Member States have also arrived in the cultural capital of Kazakhstan – Yerlan Koshanov, Chairman of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Igor Sergeyenko, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, Nurlanbek Shakiev, Chairman of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic, and Rustami Emomali, Chairman of the Majlisi Milli of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan.
