Speaking at the "Infoforum-Sochi" on April 16, Aleksandr Grinevich, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Belarus to the CSTO, said that Russia and Belarus record continuing information attacks against them every day. He added that information and communication technologies (ICT) were also used to plan the terrorist attack in Crocus City Hall.
Aleksandr Grinevich noted that law enforcement agencies of Belarus and Russia "record information attacks in the 24/7 mode."
"ICT is more and more often used for aggressive and other destructive purposes to interfere in the internal affairs of states, undermine their sovereignty and violate their territorial integrity, which can lead to the emergence and escalation of interstate conflicts, which, in turn, pose a threat to international peace, security and stability," stated the Permanent Representative of Belarus.
For reference. "Infoforum" is one of the main annual IT-events in Russia. This year, the 11th forum is held in Sochi from April 15 to 18. The key topic of the forum is the discussion of the prospects of creating a program for the development of digital security technologies until 2030.
The CSTO Parliamentary Assembly is actively working on solving information security issues. For example, in December 2023, the Model Laws "On Critical Information Infrastructure Security" and "On Information Protection and Cybersecurity" were adopted.
