Igor Sergeyenko: Parliamentary Diplomacy Should Contribute to Ensuring Eurasian Security
Today, on December 9, a joint meeting of the CSTO PA and the 17th plenary session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization are taking place in Moscow.
Igor Sergeyenko, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, said that parliamentary diplomacy should contribute to ensuring Eurasian security.
“We welcome the resolution on cooperation between the UN and the Collective Security Treaty Organization, which was adopted on November 18 at the 79th session of the UN General Assembly,” Igor Sergeyenko stated.
The Belarusian Speaker also noted the relevance of the adoption of the Assembly's model acts and, in particular, the Address of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization to the Peoples of the Organization's Member States and Parliamentarians of the World in Connection with the 80th Anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet People in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 and Anti-Hitler Coalition in the Second World War. He invited the participants to the elections of the President of the Republic of Belarus, scheduled for January 26, 2025.
