Imangali Tasmagambetov Praised Belarus’ Contribution to the Development of the CSTO
In an interview with Sputnik Belarus before the summit of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, Imangali Tasmagambetov, CSTO Secretary General, praised Belarus’ strategic work for the benefit of all Member States of the Organization, noted the importance of the development of the military and industrial complex in modern conditions and answered a number of other topical questions.
“As Secretary General, the beginning of whose term of office practically coincided with the beginning of the Belarusian presidency, I am grateful to my colleagues for their support both in the current and strategic work for the benefit of all CSTO Member States. I think it will be useful if the non-CSTO countries pay additional attention to the position of Belarus related to the search for diplomatic solutions, the search for options to reduce international tension and establish dialogue and cooperation,” said Imangali Tasmagambetov.
The Secretary General of the Organization stressed that the high assessment of the fruitful work of the Republic of Belarus in the CSTO concerns not only the period of Belarus’ 2023 presidency in the Organization, but also its overall long-term contribution to the CSTO activities.
As you may recall, a session of the CSTO Collective Security Council (CSC) will be held in Minsk on November 23 under the chairmanship of Aleksandr Lukashenko, President of the Republic of Belarus. On the eve of the session, on November 22, a joint meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers, the Council of Defence Ministers and the Committee of Secretaries of the CSTO Security Councils will be held.
