Iranian parliamentarians declare importance of cooperation in CSTO PA format

“On behalf of the great Iranian people, it is a pleasure to participate in this meeting, the main purpose of which is to involve the peoples of the region in ensuring peace and sustainable security,” Abbas Moghtadaei, head of the parliamentary delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran, first deputy Chairman of the Committee for National Security and Foreign Policy of the Assembly of the Islamic Republic of Iran, said at the meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization.
“We have always advocated interaction among the countries of the region, and cooperation between countries to achieve peace through collective cooperation. We are convinced that countries outside the region want to exploit the region and violate its peace and security to the detriment of the interests of other states. We are neighbours and friends, we are determined to use the collective capacity to provide security; now is a good opportunity to define a new period of cooperation, coordination and unity based on friendship between the peoples in the Asian region,” said Abbas Moghtadaei.
On behalf of the Committee for National Security and Foreign Policy of the Majlis of the Islamic Council, he conveyed his country’s warm greetings to the participants of the CSTO meeting.
“I am confident that holding such meetings benefits the cause of peace,” Abbas Moghtadaei stressed.
