On February 24, international observers from the CSTO PA headed by Alisher Erbayev, member of the Committee on Law and Order, Combating Crime and Counteraction to Corruption of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic, met with Natalia Kochanova, Chairperson of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus.
First of all, Natalia Kochanova thanked Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly, for sending CSTO PA parliamentarians to participate in monitoring the elections in Belarus.
"I hope that you will give a professional and objective assessment of the election process in our country," Natalia Kochanova addressed the observers.
The CSTO parliamentarians noted that the election campaign – 2024 will be the largest in the history of independent Belarus.
On the single voting day – February 25 – deputies of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly and local Councils of Deputies will be elected. Then on April 4, the composition of the Council of the Republic will be determined. In addition, the results of the election of delegates to the All-Belarusian People's Assembly will be announced by April 18. In fact, within two months, the representative bodies of the Republic for the next five years will be formed.
