Konstantin Zatulin: polling stations at the Kyrgyz Republic Jogorku Kenesh elections opened on time
Konstantin Zatulin, coordinator of the international observer mission from the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, deputy Chairman of the Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, said that CSTO PA observers attended in Bishkek the opening of precinct election commissions for the election of the deputies to the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic and that the polling stations opened on time.
Konstantin Zatulin himself attended the opening of polling station 1215 at school No. 6 of Bishkek.
According to him, at all polling stations whose opening was monitored by the CSTO PA international observers, health and safety requirements were fully met to ensure safety of voters and other participants of the election process. All members of election commissions and observers were provided with masks and gloves, voters also received masks and gloves and had their temperature measured remotely at the entrance to the polling station, with social distancing being observed during voting. Mr Zatulin noted a large number of observers from political parties closely monitoring the voting process.
All polling stations are equipped with identification systems, scanners, electronic ballot boxes, which, according to Konstantin Zatulin, virtually eliminates potential falsification.
By the way, first voters entered the polling station immediately after its opening.
CSTO PA international observers are currently working at the polling stations, watching the voting process, and their final conclusions and assessments will be presented in the final document after the polling stations are closed and vote counting is completed.
The group of international observers includes representatives of the parliaments of the CSTO Member States: the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tajikistan.
The day before Election Day, CSTO PA international observers laid wreaths at the Victory Monument, held a number of meetings at the election headquarters of political parties participating in the election campaign and visited precinct election commissions, watching the voting preparation.
