CSTO Coordination Council for Emergencies approves 2023 action plan
The 13th meeting of the CSTO Member States’ Coordination Council for Emergencies presented and approved the 2023 emergency prevention and mitigation action plan for the authorized bodies of the CSTO Member States. The meeting participants included heads of emergency departments of the Republic of Armenia, Republic of Belarus, Republic of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic and Republic of Tajikistan. The meeting was held in Moscow and was chaired by Aleksandr Kurenkov, Minister of Civil Defence, Emergencies and Disaster Relief of the Russian Federation.
Valery Semerikov, CSTO deputy Secretary General, addressed the meeting. According to the press service of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, he briefed the participants on tasks related to emergency situations for 2023, as well as the Organization’s progress on the establishment of a coordinating council of authorized bodies of the CSTO states on biological security.
The participants approved the candidacy of Minister of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus Vadim Sinyavsky as the next Chairman of the Coordination Council for Emergencies of the CSTO Member States. It was decided to hold staff trainings Skala 2023 and Skala 2024 in the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Kazakhstan, respectively.
The agreements reached during the meeting were formalized in the signed final protocol.
At the invitation of Aleksandr Kurenkov, Minister of Civil Defence, Emergencies and Disaster Relief of the Russian Federation, members of the CSTO Coordination Council for Emergencies took part in the 2023 International Safety & Security Exhibition. Today, the CSTO Member States’ ministers of emergency situations will take part in the business programme of the 3rd International Fire and Rescue Congress.
