Aleksandr Lukashenko Urged CIS and CSTO Countries to Stick Together
Aleksandr Lukashenko, President of Belarus, urged the CIS and CSTO countries not to deviate from the "common" development vector and not to distance themselves from Russia in search of their own benefit. According to the Belarusian leader, Russia's assistance may still be needed in the future.
Aleksandr Lukashenko noted that in the changing modern realities, no one knows how the situation will turn out.
"The situation may turn out in such a way that any of our states could not do without this unity. And if we do not realize it today, we will be dealt with separately. But if Russia collapses, we will all be dragged into this vortex," emphasized Aleksandr Lukashenko at a meeting of the Council of the Ministries of Internal Affairs of the CIS Member States.
The President of the Republic reminded everyone that in 2020, riots broke out in Belarus, but the authorities prevented the collapse of the country and the outbreak of civil war.
"Who knows what will happen tomorrow to us, to our states, and whether we will have to turn to Russia for help. And recent events show that no one needs us. They need neither Russia, nor us... We need to stick together," concluded the President of Belarus.
