Lukashenko: "CSTO Countries Should Have a Joint Action Plan Not Only in the Military Sphere"
On June 20, Minsk Hosts a Meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the CSTO Member States
During his meeting with the ministers, Aleksandr Lukashenko, President of the Republic of Belarus, underscored the need to strengthen interaction within various integration frameworks, including the CSTO.
"We should stick together, especially in these challenging times. It is not that the main backbone of our organization, Russia, is in a difficult situation. Russia is a part, an element of everything that is happening in the world,” Aleksandr Lukashenko noted.
According to the Belarusian leader, there is a “tough fight, a battle on a global scale” going on, the outcome of which is impossible to predict. He pointed out that it is extremely difficult to gain some new markets in the current circumstances. However, he called on the CSTO countries to work out a joint action plan both in the military and economic sphere.
“Each of you represents a different country, a unique and independent one with its own national peculiarities and rich history. But we all share a common past. Some 30 years ago we were one state. We were defending our common Fatherland together,” Lukashenko stressed.
As you may recall, the Republic of Belarus is presiding in the Collective Security Treaty Organization in 2023.
