CSTO PA international observers begin work at the Kazakhstan referendum
International observers from the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization headed by their coordinator Fayzullo Barotzoda, Chairman of the Commission on Parliamentary Ethics of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, arrived in the Republic of Kazakhstan and began monitoring the referendum campaign on introducing amendments and additions to the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The group of international observers from the CSTO PA consists of parliamentarians of the CSTO States: representatives from the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic, Federation Council and State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan.
Today, on June 3, international observers from the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly plan to meet with the leadership of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan and with representatives of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic, as part of monitoring the preparation and the voting process in the referendum on introducing amendments and additions to the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
As you may recall, following the invitation of the Kazakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs of May 6, 2022 and the instruction of Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, international observers from the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly take part in the international observation of the preparation and voting at the referendum in the Republic of Kazakhstan on introducing amendments and additions to the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan
On June 5, the voting day, international observers from the CSTO PA will observe polling stations in Nur-Sultan and Almaty, from their opening until the end of the vote count.
