The Inter-Parliamentary Union grants observer status to the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly
The CSTO Parliamentary Assembly has been reinstated as observer to the Inter-Parliamentary Union, the oldest parliamentary organization.
On October 9, the IPU Executive Committee reviewed documents to decide on the reinstatement of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly as an observer to the Inter-Parliamentary Union.
The IPU Executive Committee made a positive decision, and on October 15 the IPU Governing Council decided to restore CSTO PA’s observer status to the Inter-Parliamentary Union.
On October 11–15, Rwanda hosted the 145th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union.
Tsovinar Vardanyan, deputy of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia and member of the Standing Committee on Economic Affairs of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, represented the CSTO PA at the IPU meeting.
As you may recall, the Republic of Armenia presides over the Collective Security Treaty Organization in 2022.
