Legislative Mechanisms to Ensure Collective Security Presented at the CSTO PA Expert Council in St. Petersburg
Today, on October 23, a regular meeting of the Expert Advisory Board of the Council of the Collective Security Treaty Organization Parliamentary Assembly (CSTO PA) took place in Saint Petersburg under the chairmanship of Anatoly Vyborny, deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Security and Corruption Control.
The meeting considered eight issues regarding the development and harmonization of the CSTO Member States' legislation.The experts discussed the results of the round table held on the margins of the XII St. Petersburg International Legal Forum, as well as draft Recommendations on the harmonization of criminal and administrative legislation in the field of critical information infrastructure security and development of legislation in the field of civil protection.
The participants paid special attention to the draft CSTO model law “On Countering Terrorism”, presented by Zhalyn Kaliev, expert from Kazakhstan.
In addition, the meeting discussed the progress of work on the draft model law “On the Status of International Officials” and Recommendations on Criminal Legislation regarding responsibility for crimes against peace and security of humankind.
The next meeting of the Expert Advisory Board will be held in the spring of 2025.
