Eurasian Anti-Corruption Forum Presents CSTO PA Lawmaking Experience
On 26 April the XII Eurasian Forum Corruption Control: Dialectics of Scientific Knowledge took place in Moscow. The event was dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Institute of Legislation and Comparative Law Under the Government of the Russian Federation.
Sergei Pospelov, Executive Secretary of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly, made a report on the Assembly’s anti-corruption activities and thanked the Institute's team for the scientific work carried out in 2021-2022 to analyse the implementation of the CSTO legal and model framework in the national legislation of its member states.
Speakers of the forum were also Talia Khabrieva, Director of the Institute of Legislation and Comparative Law Under the Government of the Russian Federation; Svetlana Orlova, auditor of the Accounts Chamber; Roman Artyukhin, Head of the Federal Treasury; Aleksandr Anikin, deputy Head of Presidential Department; Aleksandr Fedorov, deputy Chairman of the Investigation Committee; Andrei Pudov, deputy Minister of Labour and Social Security; Evgeny Zabarchuk, first deputy Minister of Justice; Igor Matskevich, Rector of the University of the Prosecutor General’s Office; Mo Jihong, Director of the Institute of Law at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
Researchers of the Institute have compiled and presented at the forum a typical profile of a Russian bribe-taking organization, a new rating for the assessment of corruption control disciplinary practices of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation and the assessment of best corruption control practices in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation.
“Corruption-control documents have been regularly included in the CSTO PA Action Plan on Approximation and Harmonization of National Legislation of the CSTO Member States," Sergei Pospelov said.
The year 2023 will mark the 20th anniversary of the UN Convention Against Corruption.
