CSTO PA Observers Start Working at Presidential Elections in Belarus

International observers from the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization have arrived in Minsk and started monitoring the preparation and holding of presidential elections in the Republic of Belarus.
 
Victoria Abramchenko, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, coordinates the monitoring mission of parliamentarians from the CSTO states.
 
On the eve of the elections, the observers will hold meetings with the presidential candidates and their representatives, with the leadership of the CEC of Belarus and with the heads of chambers of the Belarusian parliament.
 
As you may recall, on the instructions of the CSTO PA Council and Vyacheslav Volodin, its Chairman, international observers from the Assembly are taking part in the monitoring of presidential elections at the invitation of Natalia Kochanova, Chairperson of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly, and Igor Sergeyenko, Chairman of the House of Representatives.  
 
On the day of voting on January 26, the delegation of the CSTO PA observers will monitor the elections at polling stations in Minsk, from their opening till the end of the tabulation of voting results.
