CSTO PA observers determined their strategy for election observation in the Kyrgyz Republic
International observers from the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly to the election of deputies to the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic held a coordination meeting and discussed their voting observation strategy. The international observers led by their coordinator Aleksei Sandykov, deputy of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, reviewed the electoral legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic and determined their routes between the polling stations for November 28, 2021.
Aleksei Sandykov recalled, “We must remember: the main thing in our work is to ‘do no harm’. CSTO PA observers act based on the principles of political neutrality, objectivity, non-interference in the election process and compliance with the election laws of the Kyrgyz Republic.”
Meeting observers included international observers – parliamentarians of the CSTO Member States, representatives of the parliaments of the CSTO Member States and the CSTO PA Secretariat.
As you may recall, international observers from the CSTO PA came to the Kyrgyz Republic to monitor the Jogorku Kenesh election campaign and to observe the voting process at the invitation of Talant Mamytov, Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh of the 6th convocation. The group of observers from the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly includes representatives of the parliaments of the CSTO Member States: National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, Senate and Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Federation Council and State Duma of Federal Assembly of Russian Federation and Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan.
