CSTO PA Monitoring Mission Was Received in the Parliament of Tajikistan
The observers of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly met with Mahmadali Vatanzoda, first deputy Speaker of the Majlisi Namoyandagon.
Sergei Rachkov, Coordinator of the group of parliamentarians, thanked the leadership of the Parliament of Tajikistan for the invitation.
Welcoming fellow parliamentarians, Mahmadali Vatanzoda noted that some international observers refused to work at the parliamentary elections in Tajikistan under various pretexts and thanked the leadership of the CSTO PA for the opportunity to send a delegation of the Assembly to Dushanbe.
“Thank you for your objective and impartial assessment of our political event,” Mr. Vatanzoda said.
He added that Tajikistan attaches great importance to the work of lawmakers, which has a historical explanation: at a critical moment, it was the Parliament, led by Emomali Rahmon, current head of state, that played crucial role in preserving the country.
The first deputy Speaker of the Parliament emphasized that the elections are held under a mixed system, which allows to maintain the balance of power in the Republic.
