CSTO PA Observers Meet With Parties and Election Candidates
On March 17 and 18, ahead of voting, the group of international observers from the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly meets with the leadership of parties running in the election in Kazakhstan.
Representatives of all parties thank the observers for their support and stress its great importance. On March 18, six political parties of Kazakhstan signed a Memorandum on Conducting a Fair Election.
The Memorandum was signed by representatives of the Amanat party, the People’s Party of Kazakhstan, the Democratic Party of Kazakhstan Aq Jol (“Bright Path”), the People’s Patriotic Democratic Party Auyl (“Village”), the Kazakhstan Green Party Baitak and the Republic party. The document sets out the intention of all signatory parties to act exclusively within the framework of the existing legislation and to openly take part in the electoral campaign. International observers meet with representatives of all parties running in the election.
Following their monitoring, the observers will draw up a final report on the compliance of the election campaign with national legislation and international standards.
