Stanislav Zas: Election monitoring by CSTO observers builds trust within the Organization
Participation of representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO PA) as observers during elections in its Member States builds trust within the Organization, said CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas at an online briefing with TASS on February 2.
“Our parliamentarians monitor and observe the election process in our countries. In my opinion, this is extremely important,” RIA Novosti quotes Stanislav Zas. “It increases the level of trust between our countries; there is an exchange of experience because the legal framework and laws governing election campaigns and elections in our states differ,” noted the CSTO Secretary General.
“It is a unifying step for all of us when we are open to each other, including in such an important area of socio-political events as elections,” he added.
