CSTO Chief of the Joint Staff and Armenian Defence Minister discuss coordination of military cooperation
Colonel General Anatoly Sidorov, CSTO Chief of the Joint Staff, who is on a working visit to the Armenian capital, and Suren Papikyan, Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia, had a working meeting in Yerevan (Republic of Armenia) on March 30. According to the website of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, the meeting addressed trends and prospects for the development of the military component of the Collective Security Treaty Organization. The CSTO Chief of the Joint Staff presented for approval the draft Action Plan aimed at crisis response improvement to the head of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Armenia that holds the CSTO presidency in 2022. The document was agreed upon in consultations between representatives of the defence ministries of the Republic of Armenia, Republic of Belarus, Republic of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Russian Federation and Republic of Tajikistan on March 24. Suren Papikyan, Chairman of the CSTO Council of Ministers of Defence and Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia, approved the plan that will be sent to the Organization’s Member States in accordance with the established procedure. The CSTO Chief of the Joint Staff and the Armenian Minister of Defence also discussed coordination of the implementation of the decisions taken by the CSTO bodies concerning military cooperation.
