The CSTO will develop a Cooperation Concept for the Organization’s Member States to counteract modern combined forms of destructive impact
On July 9, the CSTO Secretariat hosted the first meeting of the Working Group elaborating the Cooperation Concept for the CSTO Member States to counteract modern combined forms of destructive impact. CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas attended the meeting. According to the press service of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, in his address to meeting participants the CSTO Secretary General noted that the growing challenges and threats to global security in modern times force the CSTO Member States to act in a coordinated and proactive manner.
The CSTO Secretary General reminded that “the 2025 CSTO Collective Security Strategy adopted in Yerevan in 2016 by the heads of six CSTO Member States directly and openly mentions those challenges and threats.
And the CSTO Implementation Plan of this Strategy adopted by the CSTO Collective Security Council (CSC) a year later aims at developing and filling with new meaning the main provisions of that strategic document, formulating the prospects for the CSTO’s further development, strengthening the foundations of its international identity.”
Stanislav Zas noted that one of the practical steps in this direction is the elaboration of the Cooperation Concept for the CSTO Member States to counteract modern combined forms of destructive impact directed at the CSTO Member States.
Stanislav Zas stressed that in this sense, Working Group members, among which are experts in various fields of security from the CSTO Member States, are tasked to develop a universal document that would predetermine for the foreseeable future the direction of CSTO countries’ collective efforts to counter threats to their sovereignty and security in a new period in history.
