CSTO PA Executive Secretary held a working meeting in Moscow with Stanislav Zas, Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization

Today, on August 17, the Secretariat of the Collective Security Treaty Organization hosted a working meeting in Moscow between Sergei Pospelov, Executive Secretary of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, and Stanislav Zas, CSTO Secretary General.

The meeting participants discussed the status of interaction between the working bodies of the CSTO and the Secretariat of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly regarding the issues slated for 2020 and outlined practical steps for their implementation.
The participants gave a careful consideration of the legislative proposals on the CSTO Secretariat-initiated model laws and discussed joint participation in the military exercises conducted by the CSTO Member States, as well as in international events organized in the framework of the Organization.
The list of issues to be addressed at the meetings of the CSTO PA Standing Commissions was discussed in detail.
Sergei Pospelov and Stanislav Zas exchanged views on matters of implementation of the model legislation adopted within the framework of the 2016–2020 Action Plan and the finalization of the draft 2021–2025 CSTO Parliamentary Assembly Action Plan on Approximation and Harmonization of National Legislation of the CSTO Member States.
The plan is to discuss the Action Plan at the autumn session of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly Council, which will be attended by CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas.
The meeting participants reaffirmed their commitment for increased cooperation between the CSTO working bodies and CSTO PA Secretariat in the interests of the Organization’s Member States and to contribute in every possible way to the strengthening of CSTO’s authority and influence both in the CSTO Member States and internationally.
