The Parliament of Kazakhstan Ratified the CSTO Troops Support Agreement
At its plenary session, Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan approved the Agreement on Joint Logistical and Medical Support of Troops (Collective Forces) of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, ratified by the Mazhilis.
The document concludes that the purpose of the agreement is a coordinated military and technical policy to provide the Troops (Collective Forces) of the CSTO with modern uniform and/or compatible weapons, military and special equipment, and materiel.
The provision of the CSTO Troops (Collective Forces) with weapons, military and special equipment and materiel will be carried out by the parties themselves at their own expense in accordance with their national legislation, using funds allocated for these purposes within the framework of targeted inter-state programmes implemented in the Organization or bilateral format, as well as at the expense of military and technical assistance provided by the parties to each other.
According to Article 4 of the Agreement, the Council of Defence Ministers and the Committee of Secretaries of the CSTO Security Councils determine common approaches to the organization of logistical and medical support for CSTO Troops (Collective Forces), including the unification of supply units, build-up rates and materiel stocks echeloning procedure.
In the event that the sending party has difficulties with rendering logistical and medical support for CSTO Troops (Collective Forces), it may be provided using the resources of the receiving or other party subject to arrangements between them.
