Serbian Ambassador Thanked the CSTO PA International Observers for Fruitful Cooperation

On December 14, Momčilo Babić, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Serbia to the Russian Federation, held a meeting with Sergei Pospelov, Executive Secretary of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the work of the group of international observers from the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly who arrived in Belgrade today to monitor the preparations and conduct of the early parliamentary elections to the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, to be held on December 17.

As you may recall, the Assembly’s cooperation with the Serbian Parliament began in April 2013. Ten years ago, the Republic of Serbia was granted observer status at the CSTO.

Momčilo Babić praised the work of the international observers from the CSTO PA on the day of voting for the election of the President of the Republic of Serbia and the early elections of the National Assembly deputies at the polling stations in Belgrade.

Since Serbia received the observer status, the leadership of the Assembly has been a regular guest at the councils and plenary sessions of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly. At today’s meeting, the participation of the Serbian guests in the CSTO PA Council meeting on December 19 in Moscow was also discussed.
