Vyacheslav VOLODIN, Chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, expressed his condolences to Nurlan NIGMATULIN, Chairman of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in connection with the plane crash near Almaty, the State Duma press service reported on December 27.
“Let me express my deepest condolences on the tragic consequences of the plane crash near Almaty,” Volodin noted in a telegram.
The CSTO PA Chairman also asked to convey the words of sympathy and support to the families and friends of the citizens who died in the crash, both on his own behalf and on behalf of all the deputies of the State Duma. To the injured, Volodin wished “a speedy recovery.”
On December 27, Bek Air’s Fokker-100 aircraft crashed shortly after departing from the Almaty airport. The liner lost altitude, broke through a concrete fence and crashed into a two-story building near the airport. Fourteen people died on the spot, another one died in a hospital. The city’s airport press office has published a “preliminary list of survivors who have received medical treatment.” It consists of 60 people, including children.
