Speaker of the Serbian Parliament Briefed the CSTO PA Observers on Election Preparations
On December 15, international observers from the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, who are monitoring the preparation and conduct of early parliamentary elections to the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, met with Vladimir Orlić, Speaker of the Serbian Parliament.
Vladimir Orlić informed CSTO PA international observers about the preparations for the elections, the peculiarities of the election campaign and answered their questions.
The Speaker of the Serbian Parliament also asked to convey words of gratitude for cooperation to the Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly, and all the heads of parliaments of the CSTO Member States.
The group of international observers from the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly who arrived in Serbia, includes representatives of the parliaments of the CSTO Member States: the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The snap elections in Serbia will be held on December 17. As a result of parliamentary elections, 250 parliamentary mandates will be distributed. Candidate lists of 18 political parties and coalitions have been registered for the elections. The total number of candidates is 2,817.
