President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov Met With International Observers
On December 1, Sadyr Japarov, President of Kyrgyzstan, met with the international observers who worked at the early parliamentary elections.
Head of state expressed his deep gratitude to all international observation missions that participated in the early elections of deputies to the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic.
788 international observers from 58 countries came to Kyrgyzstan to oversee the elections.
"Such a broad representation of observers demonstrates that the international community is very interested in the political processes taking place in our country," the President of the Kyrgyz Republic pointed out.
Sadyr Japarov expressed confidence that the open and objective assessments and recommendations would help Kyrgyzstan identify shortcomings that might otherwise have gone unnoticed and determine further steps to strengthen democratic institutions.
Head of state noted that the recommendations of international partners, especially parliamentary assemblies and prominent international organizations, were taken into account while preparing for the current elections.
In particular, digital technologies, biometric voter identification, automatic electronic vote counting system, online voter registry and remote voting system were used.
Heads of the missions presented the results of their observations. They noted that the electoral legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic complies with universally recognized principles and applicable norms of international law and provides a sufficient legal basis for free and democratic elections.
Snezhanna Imasheva, head of the CSTO PA international observer mission, stressed that the elections were open, fair, competitive and ensured the free expression of the will of the citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic.
