Servicemen of the reconnaissance unit of the military base in the Southern Military District stationed in the Republic of Armenia have successfully eliminated a sabotage and reconnaissance group of the simulated enemy at the high-mountain Alagyaz training range, the Russian Ministry of Defence reports.
The personnel of the reconnaissance unit carried out reconnaissance in an unfamiliar area to locate the “enemy” SRGs. The servicemen practised detecting camouflaged command posts, radio stations, communication centers, as well as equipment accumulations and ammunition depots. The simulated enemy was destroyed by fire from standard weapons.
In addition, they carried out covert movement across the terrain, set up long-term observation posts and practised survival skills in isolation from the main forces.
Particular attention was paid to improving combat use skills of modern weapons and technical reconnaissance equipment, including the latest optical and electronic surveillance systems.
