Ruslan Kosygin Elected Chairman of the Permanent Commission on Socio-Economic and Legal Affairs

Ruslan Kosygin, deputy Chairman of the Standing Commission on National Security of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, was elected Chairman of the CSTO PA Permanent Commission on Socio-Economic and Legal Affairs at a meeting on October 24 in St. Petersburg.

Earlier Ruslan Kosygin served in the Main Operational Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Belarus. In 2007, he became Head of the operational department of the Northwestern Operational Command. In 2009, he entered the General Staff Faculty of the Military Academy and graduated with honors in 2011.

From July 2011 to September 2014, he held various positions in the General Staff. In September 2014, he was appointed Head of the Information and Analytical Department, and in May 2016 he started working as first deputy Commander of the Western Operational Command troops.

Since July 7, 2020, Ruslan Kosygin headed the Main Reconaissance Directorate.

Since 2024, he has been serving as deputy of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus.
