Ruslan Zhaksylykov: Kazakh Military Will Take Part in the CSTO Exercises in Belarus
Ruslan Zhaksylykov, Head of the Ministry of Defence of Kazakhstan, told about the upcoming CSTO exercises in Belarus, in which the Kazakh military will take part. He said that an 11-member task force had been sent to Belarus.
“Belarus is a peaceful state member of the CSTO. So the decision is made in advance about the venue. There are no threats or any questions. We have the CSTO Staff where joint classes, training, exercises are planned, and we work according to this schedule. Kazakhstan fulfils all of its international obligations,” Mr Zhaksylykov said.
In 2023, a set of exercises with the CSTO Collective Security Forces will take the form of a joint operational-strategic exercise codenamed Boyevoye bratstvo 2023. Five joint and special exercises are planned to be held in Belarus on September 1–6.
A mission of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly is also going to Belarus to follow the course of the exercise to conduct parliamentary monitoring of the military and political situation in the East European region of the CSTO collective security and identify the needs for improving the legal and regulatory support for military security.
